Raw Yoga ~ Yoga & Nutrition for Detoxification The Limitless Benefits of Detox Yoga & Asana PracticeWith Alvaro Matta, Nutritionist from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NYC and Melanie Snyder, RYT 500, Owner of Natural Healthcare Store, a national distributor of natural health products including many natural detoxification products.  Through the Natural Healthcare Store, Melanie works closely with many of the nations leading natural physicians and scientists creating and testing natural products for the purpose of detoxification and correction of Ph for optimal health.During this workshop, we’ll discuss the bodies natural detox capabilities, the things we often do to interfere with its natural abilities, and the steps we can take to better allow our body to heal itself.  We’ll also discuss the many ways in which a regular yoga practice can help to improve each of these natural detoxification functions.We’ll provide a warm detox yoga class focusing on building internal heat to help purify the body through the elimination of toxins as we work and sweat.  We’ll focus on postures that  help various organs to release toxins.  We’ll introduce many gentle and deep twists that not only encourage organs to release toxins, but also provide an internal massage to these organs as we compress, twist, and massage the vital organs within the bodies core.  We’ll explain the benefits of each of the poses included in the class.As each of the different poses in a yoga practice target different organs within the body, you’ll leave this workshop with a greater depth of knowledge as to why certain poses are incorporated into many practices and how to structure your own personal practice to cater to your body’s specific needs!  Learn to use your personal practice to not only bring clam to the mind, but also help alleviate many, often serious, health issues! 

We’ll also discuss nutritional habits and how these habits may affect your overall health and your yoga practice.  We’ll provide you with many tools to help you make healthier food and fitness choices. We’ll review the role of food in chronic disease prevention and discuss the importance of maintaining a healthy weight by nourishing your body with whole foods.  We’ll also discuss and practice the preparation of many natural and raw foods.

Melanie Snyder, RYT 500 has been practicing and teaching yoga for 4 years since creating Yoga Club in 2008.  She has studied with many of the masters in yoga including Bryan Kest, Rolf Gates, Sean Corn, and Stephanie Keach and many local masters including Phyllis Rollins, Johnna Smith, Christine Navarro, Chrys Kub, and Hollace Stephenson  among others.

Alvaro Matta, Nutritionist, attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City and is a professional Health Coach.  His passion for health and wellness has led him to explore many avenues of fitness, such as yoga, kickboxing, and nutrition. When working with Alvaro, you can expect focused energy, genuine interest, thorough attention, and creative solutions all mixed with the right amount of humor and fun.  Alvaro is also a United States Marine Corps Infantry Veteran of the first Gulf War and Co-Founder and VP of Semper Fidelis Health and Wellness a 501(c)3 dedicated to the health and wellness of our veterans.

This workshop is for ALL LEVELS.
