lynnmeditatingWe are proud to welcome Lynn Wonders to our ECY team of highly trained teachers!

Lynn will be teaching Gentle Yoga on Tuesday at 6:00 and Mindful Meditation at 7:15 beginning next week, Oct. 21.

Lynn has been teaching meditation and practicing yoga since 1995. In 2002 she completed her masters degree in psychology and counseling and has always combined the mind-body philosophy of yoga and meditation to her traditional psychotherapy services. She is a licensed professional counselor, registered play therapy supervisor and experienced registered yoga teacher.

In 2006 she decided to pursue yoga teacher training and after completion began teaching 5-7 asana classes each week in studios and large gyms through out East Cobb and North Fulton in addition to weekly meditation classes in her own studio. She offers professional counseling, wellness coaching and other related mind-body services in her East Cobb private practice.  Lynn joins East Cobb Yoga where she will be offering classes in gentle yoga and meditation. Her classes are based upon a foundation of honoring, accepting and working with the present state of being rather than chasing change. Her classes are very gentle and relaxing, introducing people to an experience of their own mind and body in a way that is approachable, practical and very helpful to every day life.

Gentle Yoga helps us slow down, find balance and create equanimity so we can live with a greater sense of peace, acceptance of what is, good health and harmony with what is around us in daily life. In this class we will come into postures with a lot of focus on the breath allowing for deep and delicious stretch and release of tension. This class is very relaxing…

Meditation: Mindfulness Meditation can help you discover what it’s like to see the world you actually have, not the one you think you are missing, and to live the life that is yours to live in its fullness, moment by moment and day by day. This 45 minute class provides a brief and basic introduction to the simple practice of mindfulness, seated awareness and focus on the breath.  We will spend the first 10 minutes of class discussing the practice and it’s  applications in life. We will then prepare for a 15-20  minute seated meditation. The last 10 minutes of class will be questions and answers and encouraging tips on how to develop your own practice at home and in daily life.
